ユジーン・ピーターソン牧師は天国へ

E．H．（ユジーン）ピーターソン牧師は、天国に召された。（Eugene Peterson Has Completed His Long Obedience）私は、彼の本をいくつか読んて、彼をとても尊敬している。『牧師の牧師』とも言われていた。彼の生涯のメッセージは、ヨハネ１：２９後半「見よ、世の罪を取り除く神の小羊。」

召される前に彼は、こう言っていた。「私たちの信仰、私たちの存在自体の物語は、喜びとともに始まり、そして（喜びとともに）終わる。」英語では“The story of our faith, our very existence, begins and ends with joy.”

聖書・ピリピ１：２１「私にとっては、生きることはキリスト、死ぬことも有益です。」

次は、彼の死に方について伝えられた。「最後の言葉は『レッツ・ゴー』（さー行こう！）たった。“During the previous days, it was apparent that he was navigating the thin and sacred space between earth and heaven,” they stated. “We overheard him speaking to people we can only presume were welcoming him into paradise. There may have even been a time or two when he accessed his Pentecostal roots and spoke in tongues as well. “Among his final words were, ‘Let’s go.’ And his joy: my, oh my; the man remained joyful right up to his blessed end, smiling frequently. In such moments it’s best for all mortal flesh to keep silence. But if you have to say something say this: ‘Holy, Holy, Holy.’”
